It's been a while...

**** These pictures all uploaded out of order.  Sorry for it being so random but wanted to share what we have enjoyed about Korea and this about sums it all up****
 Mom Galloway came out to Korea to help us out for a few weeks, and it was so nice to show her Korea!We had fun traveling all over and getting her to the "must see" locations.  In our opinion there are a LOT of UGLY areas of Korea, so we had to show her that there were some pretty ones.  The flower market was one of our first stops.  It never disappoints us, it's always the best smelling location in Korea!

 Then it was off to the Childrens park in Seoul.  As you can tell by our clothing choices, the weather did not warm up too quickly here in Korea.  This was in early April!!  We were all still in winter coats and long johns!!  But we managed to have a great time non-the-less.  It's always fun to watch polar bears swimming around.

The boys can't help but climb on everything that they can!  It's just nice to have them in a locations that they are allowed to climb on anything and everything!

 Once Doug left for the Philippines we headed up to Seoul and spent a few days exploring with just the boys, mom and I.  We took mom to the Korean War Museum, it's the best place to really get a good idea about why we are stationed here in Korea and what the whole war was about.  The boys love the "Turtle Boat", it's like a tank of the sea!

 And of course I had to take her to Dongdaemun!!  This is the gate outside the market, but really we went to see the fabric market that is right next to this gate.  It is a must see for an avid seamstress!  We had a fun (though exhausting) day walking the aisles and aisles of booths of fabric and notions.  We both walked away with some great finds and even Jenn (Doug's sister) though thousands of miles away, was a winner that day! :)

 One of our favorite places to go here in Korea is to Lanna Thai, a Thai restaurant just off base.  The reason it's our favorite is partly because of how good the food is, but mostly because Lanna is like a family member to us now after two and half years.  We love going in and catching up with her, she is such a sweet dear person!  So of course we had to take mom there too!!

4 and 9  market

One crazy/great experience here is the 4 and 9 market.  It's named that b/c the market is held on days that end in 4 and 9.  There are all kinds of things at this market, from socks, to squid (usually alive in a tank) as well as produce of all kinds.  It is something you HAVE to experience, b/c it's how the Korean locals really shop.

 While we were up in Seoul for Spring break we went to the Seoul Tower with  mom.  We are sitting just below the tower where the visitors to the tower put locks on a fence as a symbol of their love for each other.  The fence is COVERED in locks... it's a really cool sight.  The bench we're on is in a V shape to force couples to sit together.  Too cute.

 Yet another Korea must do is Everland.  We have had season passes the whole time we have been here and have had an amazing time going there over the last two years.  When we started going the boys had to have an adult with them on all the rides, now that they are a little taller they just run all over like they own the place and ride rides all day.  It is just a blast (and not to much work for me as a mom, so that's a bonus!)!!  We will miss Everland greatly!!

 While up in Seoul we went to a palace.  We had been there before with Doug, but it was in the winter so different sections were closed, this time we were able to see the WHOLE thing... boy were the boys excited... well maybe not so much, but it was fun anyways.

 The boys loved taking Grandma to the park... the tire swing is a favorite around here and this was a sweet moment caught of Bryce after school just loving the warmer weather and the gentle rocking of the swing. 

Keep an eye out for more, I might have caught the blogging bug again.  I hope to be back for good! :)
