So I'm updating you all on what we have been doing this past winter. Life was way to busy to blog during the year (as you could tell from the absence of blogs), but now life has slowed down and it's time to catch up.
Over the past two years we have had a friend who has tried to get us to go skiing with him and his family. We kept insisting that it was too expensive and our kids were just NOT ready to go. Well this past winter we finally gave in and hit the slops with all our boys. Boy were we surprised how quickly they picked it up and how much FUN it really was. We ended up having a blast after we got through the first half day of picking the boys up every five seconds. But once they got their footings and figured out how much fun it was to go down the mountain fast, we could barely keep up with all of them. Thankfully the ski mountains here are rather small, so we could let them go at their own pace and hook up with them at the end of the run. The friend that convinced us to go, Jack, was a HUGE help in teaching the boys. He was so much more patient with our kids than we had a tenancy to be. Thanks to him and a few other helpful adults, our boys have "caught the bug" and LOVE skiing. We are so excited that they can do this, what fun we are going to have in the years to come.
