Dec 30th Our trip to Seoul

To get Doug out of town while we were on leave we decided to go up to Seoul for a couple of days. We had a wonderful time. The day we arrived Doug decided he wanted to got to the Coex Mall. It's right next to the Korean United Nations Building. Not sure why MY husband wanted to go to a mall, but he did, so we went. It was interesting... but still a mall. There was an aquarium, but we've been to one since being in Korea, and they are expensive, so we skipped that and headed on to our hotel.

That night we headed downtown to the skating rink that they have set up. There was supposed to be a laser light show too, but instead there was a broadcasting of the City Orchestra. Oh well. We had a blast ice skating. The kids held up GREAT, but by the end all of our feet hurt and we were ready to go. Good memories though.

The boys after calling it quits. They had a few (ok more than a few) falls, but kept up good spirits the whole time.

This is a replica of the Turtle Ship it's done in all different kinds of electronics. It was a little weird. Koreans...

The boys spent an hour or so playing in the snow the next morning. They had a blast, as did Doug who was playing with them. I stayed in the room and stayed warm.

Then we were off on a bus ride around Seoul. The headsets told us what we were seeing in English! A very nice feature!

We got off at a palace. The boys played in the snow... go figure.

More snow playing, actually that's all they did while we toured the palace. It was nice that they could do that and we could do what we wanted to do too!

That nice self portrait feature on our camera again! :)

I think this was the thrown room. It was pretty impressive!

Sean jumping off a ledge. Why use the stairs when you can jump!?

Conner had to try it too!

After the palace we got off and went around a downtown market.

This booth is full of paper, that is all paper, I think for wrapping, all the booths are that full at this market. It's pretty cool.

That was our trip. We had a great time and it was so nice to get out of Osan for a couple of days.
