Christmas at the Galloways

Our Christmas morning started off nice and slow. We secured the children in their rooms and they remained there until around 7:30am Christmas morning. What a nice treat to not have to wake up too early on Christmas morning. Doug rushed upstairs to make sure that he had the video camera ready upstairs to catch the kids excitement as they came upstairs and saw everything for the first time. Before they tore into all the presents I had to get a photo of the gifts under the tree.

Bryce is giving us the big green gift, it was a calendar he had put together for us. It was really sweet a really special gift from him.
Sean opening hat and gloves from Grandma Gigi. The boys each had a pair and had to try them on and have a picture taken. They had also received swords from "Santa Clause", so thus the stance like soldiers, or at least that is the look they were going for in this next picture...

Cody got a dust pan and broom, and Doug thought it was a really lame gift, however, as you can see from his expression, he was ecstatic to get it! But that's Cody, he's happy with whatever he gets. Christmas is fun with him.

The boys all got scooters this year, which they LOVE! After a morning of having scooters all over the house, we started to enforce a "parking spot" for the scooters. And you have just gotta love when you multiply everything by four! It really makes for a lot of stuff around the house.

Since the boys got swords for Christmas, they also wanted shields. And becuase we are moving soon we are clearing out a lot of the STUFF we have in our basement. We have had this old dresser in our storage room since we got here and all that is in it is a handful of stuff. It really hasn't done anything for us except collect dust. So Doug took it apart and used the bottoms of the three drawers for shields and the front of two to combine for the forth shield. At first they were just big rectangles with handles. The kids thought these were a little heavy and VERY unimaginative. So Doug looked up shapes of shields and then traced them onto the rectangles. He pulled out our jigsaw and in the kitchen proceeded to make the boys real authentic shields.

Cody, after seeing Doug pull his sleeves up, immedietly decided that must be the way you do things, so he tugged on his sleeves and proceeded to cross his arms like Doug, it was such a cute, "I'm just like Dad" moment. He's a sweet heart when he wants to be.
